Skaha Lake Marina closed after Thanksgiving to November for new construction

Boat launch expansion starts

Improvements continue for the redevelopment of the Skaha Lake Marina, with the construction of a new ramp from the boat launch beginning in October.

According to the City of Penticton, the replacement ramp will be wider and extend further into the lake, providing a safer and easier launch site for boat owners.

The boat launch will be closed from Oct. 11 to Nov. 2, to allow for the work to be completed and to allow for environmental controls, including creating a silt barrier to prevent turbidity from leaching into the lake.

The ramp will be removed, the site excavated and new concrete mats installed with a large crane.

Two other launches are still available on Skaha Lake for boaters, located in Kaleden and Okanagan Falls.

More construction on the Skaha Lake Marina is set to begin this fall.

Earlier this year, Council green-lit a 25-year agreement with the Penticton Yacht Club to operate the marina.
