Hit and run near park

UPDATE: 4:20 p.m.

Police are investigating a hit and run near Skaha Lake Park in the early hours of Sunday morning.

At about 4:20 a.m., a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle near the park. Police says the person suffered "non-life-threatening injuries" and was treated at the hospital. 

Police found a "suspect vehicle" nearby, but it's unclear if any arrests have been made.

"RCMP are continuing their investigation and anticipate remaining on scene for next few hours," said Cpl. Heather Bradshaw of the Penticton RCMP.

Police are asking anyone with information about the hit and run to call them at 250-492-4300.


ORIGINAL: 11:25 a.m.

Forensic investigators were on scene at Tickleberry's Ice Cream stand Sunday morning after an incident overnight.

RCMP were on scene at the Skaha Lake Park vendor until about 10 a.m. and they were not commenting.
