Two crashes within minutes

The Okanagan Falls Volunteer Fire Department had their hands full just before 1 p.m. Saturday, responding to two separate car crashes that happened within minutes of each other.

Fire chief Rob Oliver said luckily, nobody was seriously injured at either incident.

The first crash happened on the Highway 97 bridge at the base of town.

"Someone was turning left to go on Green Lake Road, and the cars behind weren't paying attention, one hit one and another hit the other," Oliver said. "It took a while to clear up."

Minutes later, they got another call to Waterman's Hill.

"Someone had either strayed from looking at the road or whatever, and went into the ditch," Oliver said.

The vehicle is currently being towed, and backed-up traffic will soon be flowing smoothly.
