Voter turnout 41%

Voter turnout was up significantly in Penticton.

Preliminary figures show 10,883 people cast a ballot this year, or 41 per cent of the electorate. That is well up from 2014’s turnout of 33 per cent.

In Summerland, 45 per cent of voters participated this year, down from 51 per cent in 2014.

Turnout was huge in Oliver where 56.5 per cent of those eligible voted, well above 2014’s 34 per cent.

In Osoyoos, where mayor Sue McKortoff wasn’t seriously challenged, 36.7 per cent voted.
