Search for woman still going

Mounties are renewing a plea for information related to a missing Rock Creek woman who hasn't been seen in two-and-a-half years.

Colleen Smith was last seen in the morning of Feb. 9, 2016 and was reported missing after not showing up for work.

Nearly three months later, her blue 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt was found in a Walmart parking lot in Kelowna. Police said her car appeared to have been parked there for "an extended period of time," and a search of it turned up no evidence of her whereabouts.

At the time of her disappearance, Smith was 50 years old and described as five-feet-five-inches tall and 145 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes, and wearing glasses.

Midway RCMP said the Southeast District Major Crime Section is now leading the investigation into where Smith is or what happened to her.
