Credit union grants $108K

Valley First says they distributed a total of $108,000 in grant funding to 13 groups in the Okanagan-Similkameen last year.

“Through these grants, we’re able to make a real difference in the lives of people in our communities,” says Susan Byrom, executive director of the First West Foundation.

“By helping local organizations get the funding they need, we ensure they can continue to deliver the programs and services that make our communities a better place to live.”

The Okanagan Similkameen Neurological Society was one of those recipients, receiving $5,800 to better equip its teaching kitchen. The kitchen helps kids with developmental challenges establish an early healthy relationship with nutritious food.
