Knocked out at the Mule

Police are investigating after a man was found beaten unconscious inside a downtown Penticton nightclub early Sunday morning.

The male, 30, was assaulted at the Mule Nightclub and found on the dance floor bleeding from the mouth just before 2 a.m. on Dec. 10.

“It’s still under investigation at this point,” said Cpl. Ted Manchulenko. “Video is being analyzed and security staff are being interviewed.”

The victim was taken by ambulance to Penticton Regional Hospital.

“I would categorize this event, at this time of year, to be a little odd,” Manchulenko said. “In the summertime you get a little more of that pushing, shoving and fighting.”

Social media posts indicate the victim had his jaw broken in two places and required surgery. The incident remains under investigation.

Any witnesses of the assault are asked to contact Penticton RCMP at 250-492-4300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477
