Makeup gift for SOWINS

Many clients of the South Okanagan Women In Need Society will be receiving Christmas gifts thanks to a donation of makeup made by a Penticton business.

Renew Laser and Skin Clinic gave three baskets of makeup products to SOWINS on Tuesday morning, estimated to be retail valued at $5,000 dollars.

Renew, located on Front Street, needed to clear out the products and opted to donate them instead of sell them.

The timing of the donation coincides "perfectly" with the holiday season, staff said.

"I think it's a nice thing that (we've) been able to gift that... giving them an opportunity when they can't normally possibly purchase it," Deanne Dwinell of Renew said.

SOWINS said there will be a high demand for the products, which the society can donate accordingly to clients.

"It's the holiday season, right? So anything that we can provide, it's going to make for a great Christmas," Veronica Mora of SOWINS said.

"I think it's amazing to see the support in the community... It's very important to let (our clients) know they're cared for, they're cherished and they do matter."
