Castanet welcomes Colton Davies to its news team.
Davies comes to the Okanagan's news leader from Duncan, on Vancouver Island, where he worked for Vista Radio.
The 22-year-old graduated from BCIT's broadcast journalism program in 2016.
The Maple Ridge native is no stranger to the Okanagan, with several family members in West Kelowna, and has spent summers here throughout his youth.
The sports fan has done hockey play by play and admits to being a Canucks fan as well as hopping on the Florida Panthers bandwagon.
"People joke that I do play by play when I'm golfing," he says.
Davies will be joining our Penticton news team and says an "insatiable curiosity" led him into the industry.
"When I see news, I think: 'I want to do that. I want to be in the middle of the scene, giving information to people, exploring new places.'"
