Unresponsive male found

Emergency crews filled Penticton’s Gyro Park Friday afternoon, after an unresponsive male was found in the public washrooms.

Police, fire and ambulance were called to the park around 3:45 p.m., by a person who came across a man who did not appear to be breathing in the entrance of the washroom.

The person who called 911 told Castanet News “it did not look good.”

Police officers at the scene declined to comment on the condition of the man, but paramedics did not take him to hospital. A distraught woman at the scene told Castanet the man had passed away.

The victim is estimated to be in his fifties.
