Guilty plea for shooting

A man who was charged in relation to a January shooting in Penticton is expected to enter guilty pleas next Friday.

Court records show Harley McBride, 35, is facing 14 charges, including assault with a weapon, careless use of a firearm, pointing a firearm without lawful excuse, possession of a firearm for a dangerous purpose, possession of a firearm without a permit and possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm among others.

Documents show an intention to enter a guilty plea to charges, though it's currently not clear exactly which of the charges he intends to plea guilty to, nor how many.

On Jan. 9, at about 1:20 a.m., a two men allegedly entered an apartment in the 600 block of Martin Street, where a confrontation ended in shots fired.

Shortly following that, another confrontation took place on 500 Eckhardt Avenue West, where more shots were fired, according to Penticton RCMP.

A 24-year-old victim, identified through court documents as Levi Savard, was sent to hospital with non-life-threatening wounds from a single gunshot.
