Pecha Kucha returning

Pecha Kucha returns next month for a seventh Pentiction edition.

Ten local speakers will share short stories on March 9 at Cannery Brewing, about their efforts to “grow, sow, save, research, fight, paint and snorkel the world into better shape.”

The night is titled “Saving and Sowing: The Ecology Around Us.”

Pecha Kucha mean “chit chat” in Japanese, and is a presentation format containing 20 images for 20 seconds each. Presented get 6 minutes and 40 seconds to share their ideas, or tell a story before the next speaker takes the stage.

The event has been held four times a year in Penticton since the first event in July 2015 and has been growing in popularity ever since. Presenters this time around include bat biologist, Tanya Luszcz and Naramata organic farmer and food forager, Sid Vereeken.

Doors open at 6:00 p.m., presentations start at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 at Cannery Brewing, Cowork Penticton and online.
