Guns stolen from residence

Three handguns, as well as jewellery, were stolen from a residence on Penticton's Atkinson Street, late last week.

The RCMP responded to the scene after receiving reports someone had broken in the back door and taken the guns from locked safes.

Jewelry in the safes, along with a back pack with hunting gear, was also taken.

According to Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth, the teenage son of the homeowner was home at the time and heard someone come in and an adult male voice.

The theft remains under investigation.
