Equestrian centre burgled

Two businesses in Penticton’s Green Mountain Road area were hit by thieves last week.

Sometime overnight Nov. 29, more than $7,000 worth of equipment was taken from the Green Mountain Equestrian Centre. Stolen goods include a whole set of DeWalt cordless tools, a large generator and air compressor.

"It's very disturbing, because we work really, really long hours for not much pay," said Bobbi Kennedy, the owner of the business. "And now we are out thousands of dollars of equipment that we can't afford to replace."

She added this was the first major theft from the business, which is not easily visible from the road.

RCMP say P & E Lumber was also broken into for the fourth time this year that same night.

A large gate was breached and a compound shed door was pried open. Fuel may have been siphoned at the scene.

Anyone with information on either crime is asked to call the Penticton RCMP at 250-492-4300.
