Special meeting on Skaha

The City of Penticton has announced a special council meeting on the Skaha Lake Marina and water park development on Wednesday.

The meeting, to be held at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre, will allow for community input on the agreement with Trio Marine Group.

The meeting will start with a staff presentation from acting CAO Mitch Moroziuk, followed by a community input period with comments and questions for Moroziuk, mayor and council, and representatives from Trio.

The community input period will be moderated by John Singleton of Singleton Consulting Corporation.

Everyone in attendance will have equal opportunity to make a comment or ask a question according to the city, and each person will have up to three minutes to make a statement or ask a question.

After everyone has had a chance to speak, people will be allowed to return to the microphone.

The city is asking residents to maintain a respectful tone and demeanor toward all participants.

No decision will be made at the meeting, but the agreement with Trio will be considered at a future council meeting.

The revised Skaha Marina agreements and other supporting documents as presented to council on Nov. 1 can be found on the city's website.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
