There has been a reported creepy clown sighting in Penticton.
RCMP Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth said the incident, the first reported in the city following a wave of troubling clown incidents across the continent, took place at 7:50 p.m. Oct. 12.
A teenage girl walking home on Yorkton Avenue noticed someone on South Main Street wearing a scary clown mask, said Wrigglesworth.
The person in the mask didn't say anything, and the frightened girl ran home.
Police provided counselling to the girl and her parents with regard to walking home safely.
No other reports have been received, and the clown has not been unmasked, says Wrigglesworth.
