Next year's Challenge Penticton's half race will be taking place a month early, to avoid conflict with the world championships.
Challenge Penticton typically happens near the end of August, but with the ITU Multisport World Championships 2017 happening at that same time in Penticton next year, Challenge has moved its date a month ahead.
The races will be held on July 23, 2017, and will include four races: Pro individual, half individual, half teams and aquabike individuals.
People will race a 1.9-kilometre swim course, followed by a 90-kilometre bike course and finally a 21.1-kilometre running course.
Early bird rates for entry are open until Oct. 1, with spaces open for 500 entrants.
