Corvette driver critical

The driver of a Corvette involved in a crash near Olalla Thursday afternoon is in critical condition at Kelowna General Hospital.

Just before 1 p.m., a Pontiac G3 turned left in front of the Corvette, which was travelling westbound on Highway 3A near Olalla.

The two vehicles collided, causing moderate injuries to the 56-year-old female Hedley resident driving the Pontiac and the 40-year-old female passenger of the Corvette.

The 60-year-old male driver of the Corvette, an Osoyoos resident, sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Kelowna General Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

The crash closed Highway 3A for several hours Thursday afternoon.

Police are asking for any witnesses who saw the crash to call South Okanagan Traffic Services at 250-499-2250.
