Poaching charges dropped

Charges have been dropped against a second man after a deer poaching incident in Penticton, according to Crown counsel.

Edward Neave had been facing charges after a pregnant doe was shot with a crossbow in April 2015, including hunting out of season and outside permitted hours.

Jason Thurston pleaded guilty in March and was sentenced.

Dan McLaughlin, spokesman for the Crown, said in light of the limited extent of the involvement of Neave and the acceptance of responsibility of Thurston, the Crown concluded it was no longer required to proceed against Neave.
