The SORCO Raptor Rehab Centre is only open to the public one day a year, and that day is coming soon.
The Oliver centre will hold its 28th annual open house May 1.
The event, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., will feature an opportunity to tour the facilities, view rehabilitating raptors, a kiddies corner with the Allan Brooks Nature Trailer, a barbecue by donation and a silent auction.
Visitors can also celebrate Houdini's 17th birthday with cake at 2 p.m. The great horned owl is an education bird at the facility.
Admission is by donation. All proceeds raised go directly to the birds.
SORCO is located at 8965 Highway 97 north, one kilometre north of Gallagher Lake Resort.
