Post office break-in

UPDATE 4 P.M.

RCMP in Oliver are now saying a break-in at the Oliver Post Office took place sometime between 10 p.m. last night and 6 a.m. this morning.

Police have still been unable to determine how much mail was taken from the 63 mail boxes thieves were able to gain entry to.

"The boxes were pried open randomly with personal identification not appearing to be the target," said Sgt. Gervais.

"RCMP Forensics Identification Services attended and examined the scene looking for evidence left by the suspect(s). There are no reported suspects or witnesses and no surveillance video available of the theft."

Police are investigating a case of mail theft in Oliver.

Thieves broke into several boxes at the Oliver Post Office, and police were on the scene this morning, looking for evidence, the Oliver Daily News reports.

A total of 63 boxes were broken into.
