Community gaming grants

Six sports, arts and culture groups in Penticton and three in Summerland are receiving $286,300 from the province’s Community Gaming Grants program.

·         Penticton and District Community Arts Council: $27,500;

·         The Okanagan School of the Arts: $15,000

·         Summerland Museum and Heritage Society: $15,000

·         Kettle Valley Railway Society: $13,000

·         Penticton Art Gallery Society: $40,000

·         South Okanagan (Similkameen) Youth Soccer Association: $85,000

·         Glengarry Figure Skating Club: $30,000

·         Kisu Swim Club: $38,300

·         Summerland Community Arts Council: $22,500.

“Our government is proud to help expose all residents to organized sports and arts groups,” Penticton MLA Dan Ashton said. “By supporting athletics and the arts, we are ensuring that our communities remain vibrant, with activities the whole family can enjoy.”

Every year, the provincial government approves $135 million in gaming grants that benefit more than 5,000 local non-profit organizations that serve communities throughout British Columbia.
