Hunt for Ronald Teneycke

Multiple police vehicles have surrounded the Teneycke family home in OK Falls, according to the Oliver Daily News.

UPDATED: 7:56 P.M.

Oliver RCMP has confirmed they found Ronald Teneycke's truck on a forest service road on Wednesday morning.

The RCMP has also confirmed that Teneycke was picked up while hitch-hiking on the Baldy Mountain Forest Service Road and assaulted the driver and stole his truck. The vehicle he stole is a white 1999 3/4 ton GMC pickup truck with the B.C. licence place 7621 GG and "Okanagan Rustic Furniture" written across the back window.

Police believe Teneycke is extremely dangerous and may be armed.

The RCMP  requested the public not discuss the movements of police searching for Teneycke on social media, as it could negatively impact their investigation.

The search for prolific offender Ronald Teneycke continues this week in the South Okanagan.

On Tuesday, Penticton RCMP Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth said the search remains active, with police officers from throughout the region involved.

Wrigglesworth said tips are rolling in on sightings, but there is no confirmation it's him.

"It is an active, ongoing investigation," he said.

On Tuesday, there were reports the two-tone truck Teneycke was driving had been found, but there was no sign of him.

Today, there is new information that Teneycke stole a newer, white GMC near Oliver.

Those reports, by the Oliver Daily News, have not been confirmed by Castanet.

Teneycke currently has arrest warrants out of Penticton.

Police are also searching for a suspect in an armed robbery at an Oliver business, who fits the description of Teneycke. RCMP have yet to confirm the robbery suspect is him.

Shortly after 10 a.m. on Thursday, the man entered a store on the 6400 block of Park Drive and produced a weapon.

He fled the scene in an older model GMC two-tone pickup, white and grey in colour with a canopy on the box.

He was described as a white male in his late 50s or early 60s, five feet 10 inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds, with facial hair and a cleft lip or scar above his mouth. He had grey, longer hair and was wearing jeans, a black shirt and black leather coat, with a dark-coloured ball cap.

He was also said to look thin and sickly.

If you have seen Teneycke, a convicted sex offender who has been in and out of jail, contact the Oliver RCMP at 250-498-3422 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (tips).
