Fire doused at lakeside park

Firefighters doused a car fire at Soorimpt Park between Summerland and Penticton overnight.

The fire was reported about 2 a.m. at the park on Okanagan Lake, alongside Highway 97.

Firefighters refilled their trucks at nearby Summerland RV Centre, in Trout Creek.

The fire was put out by 3 a.m., according to Castanet reader Grant Mansiere, who provided the details for this report.
