Four organizations in Penticton and one in Summerland have received $79,700 in community gaming grants from the B.C. government.

·         Pentastic Jazz Festival Society: $25,000 for its cultural music festival program;

·         Apex Ski Club: $17,000 for its youth alpine ski progam;

·         Penticton Aquatic Association: $13,200 for the Penticton Pikes swimming program;

·         Penticton Peach Festival Society: $10,000 for the annual Peach Festival;

·         South Okanagan Sailing Association (Summerland): $14,500 for CANSAIL program.

“Thanks to these grants, organizations in Penticton and Summerland can have an even greater impact within their communities,” said Penticton MLA Dan Ashton. “By promoting sports and culture, we are ensuring that our communities are vibrant and strong, with a variety of educational and physical activities that the whole family can enjoy.”

About $7 million in grants is being distributed this month to approximately 200 sport and arts and culture groups around the province.

The community gaming grant program allows non-profit organizations to apply for provincial gaming revenues to support direct delivery of a program that benefits the broader community.
