Thousands raised for Kaylee

A weekend benefit concert for a Penticton teen, who is battling cancer, raised about $8,000, with more money yet to come in.

The band Cosmic Brew teamed up with Skaha Ford for the fundraiser for Kaylee Kozari-Bowland, Saturday at the car dealership.

As well as Cosmic Brew, folk singer Titus Calderbank and Dale Seaman and Craig Brown from Hwy 97 played sets. Special guest Geoff Franz played with Cosmic Brew during their last set.

The day could not have gone better with somewhere between 500 to 600 people coming to support the event, say organizers..

More than 500 hot dogs were sold and just the money from the hot dogs exceeded $2,500.

Mayor Andrew Jakubeit was there to show his support and Kaylee's mother Tammy also attended.

She was there for a good part of the afternoon meeting with people and thanking them for supporting her daughter's costly fight against cancer.
