Ringo Starr coming to SOEC

Ringo Starr, the famous drummer for The Beatles, is bringing his All-Starr Band to the South Okanagan Events Centre Saturday Oct. 10.

The tour is in support of Starr's new album Postcards from Paradise, which is due for release March 31 and his new book, Photograph, where Starr reveals photographs and mementos from his archives.

According to Starr's Facebook page, the book is "an original manuscript of over 15,000 words," where he shares memories of childhood, The Beatles and beyond. "Ringo’s lens captures his Beatles bandmates in pensive and playful moments, portraying them from the point of view of an insider, friend and skilled photographer."

The Oct. 10 show is part of a huge tour that includes 22 shows in the month of October alone.

This is the first time Starr, who will be 75 in July, has come to Penticton.

The All-Starr Band is a shifting group of famous musicians. Most recently it has included Gregg Rolie of Santana and Journey; Gregg Bissonnette of the David Lee Roth band; Richard Page of Mr. Mister and Steve Lukather of Toto.

Pre-sale tickets for club members go on sale next week.

Carla Seddon, director of marketing for the SOEC said "At this time we officially have no comment about the show. All I can say is stay tuned!"
