Family desperate to find woman

It has been a nearly a week since Roxanne Louie went missing in Penticton, and her family is desperately trying to find her.

The Osoyoos Indian Band member, who now lives in Vancouver, has been missing since last Sunday morning, when she was supposed to show up at Pentiction Regional Airport for a flight home.

"She was looking forward to going home, the holidays were over," said her aunt, Lana Hall. "And for her to leave like this is really out of character. That is why the red flags come up. It's like she fell off the face of the Earth, and I don't understand."

Hall said Louie, 26, a single mother to a three-year-old son, was back in the South Okanagan for the holidays.

She was at her son's great grandmother's house in Penticton on Saturday night and that is where she left from and disappeared.

The last thing the family saw from her was a Rhianna song she posted on her Facebook page about 1:25 a.m., followed by a comment at 1:30 a.m., saying she had found her revelation.

They have been trying to call her on her cellphone since, but there is no response.

Contrary to reports, Hall said there is no reason to believe she was depressed or simply out partying with friends. "That is sending a negative image of who she was."

"This girl was not one to suppress anything," she said. "She had multiple family and friends and was telling everyone she was excited to be flying home to Vancouver."

Family and friends have been busy this week putting up posters with information about Louie all over Pentiction and sending them to different band offices in the Okanagan.

"We are really at a loss. The police have ruled out foul play; still anything is possible," said Hall.
