BC Transit and the city of Penticton are getting into the holiday spirit with a seasonal lights tour on Dec. 11 and free rides on New Year's Eve after 6:50 p.m.
Lights tour buses depart Wade and Martin at 6:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m., Penticton Plaza at 6:35 p.m. and 7:50 p.m., Cherry Lane at 6:40 p.m. and 7:55 p.m. and Peach Tree at 6:45 p.m. and 8 p.m.
BC Transit encourages everyone to make the safe and smart choice to ride transit on New Year's Eve.
That choice is easier than ever with free rides on Dec. 31 from 6:50 p.m. until 3 a.m.
The night route will see extended hours and a party loop will be added to service the malls, downtown Penticton, both lakes and the community centre.
BC Transit customers should also be aware of some holiday schedule changes:
Dec. 24: regular weekday schedule
Dec. 25: no service
Dec. 26: Sunday service
Dec. 31: regular weekday schedule, plus free New Year's Eve shuttle
Jan. 1: Sunday service
