Vehicle ends up in Skaha Lake

UPDATE 9:00 P.M.

Pictures have been sent to Castanet showing the car submerged in the lake and emergency personnel lifting it out of the lake.

Both occupants of the vehicle did make it out ok.

An investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.

Two people are OK after their vehicle ended up in Skaha Lake in Penticton Wednesday night.

According to Penticton RCMP Sgt. Rick Dellebuur, a 2009 Dodge 150 pick up was heading southbound on Channel Parkway when it missed the turn and went  about 100 feet out in the lake.

When the police arrived on scene, after getting the 8:15 p.m. call, they found the male driver and female passenger both on shore.

They were safe and were taken to hospital, he said.

The couple were not impaired, but it is believed the vehicle was going too fast and driver inattention could be a factor.

An investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
