Penticton and South Okanagan
Fly Local campaign takes off
Sep 25, 2013 / 6:37 am
A new Fly Local campaign was launched by Air Canada in partnership with Tourism Penticton this week.
The campaign features billboards placed strategically on Highway 97 in Penticton, aiming to generate more demand for flights from Penticton Regional Airport.
"The more traffic the airport receives, the stronger the business case for increased services," said Mayor Garry Litke, on behalf of both the city and the airport select committee.
Increased service would also directly benefit tourism in the South Okanagan region, according to Jessie Campbell, CEO for Tourism Penticton.
Air Canada currently offers three daily flights to and from Vancouver, via the airport.
