Keith, Stanley Cup in Penticton today
Aug 31, 2013 / 7:37 am
Lord Stanley will make yet another appearance on Penticton Streets today.
The good Lord Stanley - aka The Stanley Cup - is in Penticton today and will be proudly displayed by local hockey hero Duncan Keith.
Keith, a defenceman with the Chicago Blackhawks, brings the coveted cup to Penticton. He and his teammates earned the championship in June when they defeated the Boston Bruins.
This marks the second occasion Keith has brought Lord Stanley's mug to the South Okanagan community. He and his teammates also earned the right in 2011.
Keith is married to Kelly-Rae Kenyon, also of Penticton. The two have been sweethearts since their high school days and Kenyon was also an athlete of note in high school and also during her university days at McGill University. He was also a member of the gold-medal winning Team Canada at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
Keith is also a former Norris Trophy winner as the NHL's top defenceman.
