Truck t-boned at Trout Creek

UPDATE: 9:35 a.m. Thursday - There were no serious injuries as a result of yesterday's two vehicle crash on Highway 97 near Trout Creek. According to police a pickup driven by a 79-year-old Summerland man was attempting to enter the highway from Arkell Road when it was t-boned by a southbound Ford Focus driven by a 17-year-old Penticton woman.
The highway was closed temporarily while emergency crews dealt with the crash.
A two vehicle accident near Trout Creek stopped traffic in both lanes of Highway 97 for an hour and a half Wednesday afternoon at around 4:30 p.m.
According to Summerland RCMP Cst. Richard Schuhmacher, a truck heading east on Arkell Rd was crossing Highway 97 when it was hit by a southbound vehicle.
Five people were taken by ambulance to Penticton Regional Hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
