Ronald Teneycke in custody
Aug 17, 2013 / 5:00 am
The sheriffs confirmed Friday that Ronald Teneycke was arrested Wednesday and is now in custody at Kamloops Regional Correctional Centre.
Information on what charges the Okanagan Falls man is facing were not available from the RCMP or crown Friday.
Teneycke was arrested in June and and put on bail with nine conditions prior to a 810.2 hearing.
The hearing is a preventive order where the crown thinks there is a real risk someone will cause real injury, crown counsel John Swanson said at a Penticton court appearance by Teneycke in July.
Teneycke was acquitted in a sexual assault trial, which took place in 2012 in Penticton, but has a prior criminal history including sexual offences.
During his July court appearance, Swanson said he was asking all nine conditions remain in place, because Teneycke is an extremely violent sexual predator, who is at very high risk to re-offend.
Teneycke's lawyer Michael Welsh argued that his client did make efforts to obtain programming in the federal prison system and that his record for the last 20 years has not been at the serious end of the spectrum.
Teneycke's next court appearance is by video on Aug. 28.
