Final meeting for old council

Tonight, Monday, will be the last meeting night for the current council in Penticton.

Mayor Garry Litke did not run for re-election and Councillor John Vassilaki was defeated by Councillor Andrew Jakubeit in the mayoral race.

Katie Robinson will also not be returning, following an unsuccessful bid for a seat on council in Saturday's election.

The agenda includes the appointment of approving officers and the 2015 to 2019 Lakeview Cemetery Operation and Maintenance Services.

On Oct. 21, a Request for Proposals for the cemetery operation and services closed. One proposal was received from S. Collier Enterprises.

The intent of the RFP was to secure a qualified contractor to provide all services and daily maintenance as required to ensure successful operation of the cemetery.

In general, works including the complete maintenance of infrastructure including turf, roadways, walkways and amenities. In addition, the proponent will perform all interments.

New candidates will make the oath of office during a swearing in ceremony on Dec. 1.
