Death at Idleback Lake

Update -- August 25

A 32-year-old Penticton man is dead after suffering serious injuries when an all-terrain vehicle flipped over.

Police say the incident happened around 11:40 Saturday evening on the 201 Forest Service Road near Idleback Lake.

Investigators believe the man was a passenger in the vehicle when it crashed and he was thrown to the ground.

His condition quickly deteriorated despite witnesses attempting to perform CPR until paramedics arrived. He was rushed to hospital in critical condition, but later died of his injuries.

The police investigation into the incident is still in its early stages. They are also looking for the vehicle involved, which was not at the scene when investigators arrived.

A person has died in a possible off-roading accident near Idleback Lake. 

Cpl. Chris Richardson with the Penticton RCMP said there was an accident involving some kind of vehicle, the exact type could not be confirmed. 

The incident occurred Saturday evening.
