Challenge closes roads

As Penticton readies itself for Sunday's Valley First Challenge triathlon, a list of road closures has been released by the city.

View the list of closures and traffic advisories here.

The Valley First Challenge Penticton is a technical and difficult course through rugged Okanagan geography and in a hot, arid climate.

The single loop through mountainous B.C. geography is known the world over.

The swim takes place in the pristine Okanagan Lake, which records warm water temperatures throughout the summer.

The long-distance bike course features two steep climbs at Richter Pass and Yellow Lake with elevation ascents over 210 metres high.

The run includes an out-and-back along the gorgeous Skaha Lake to the south.

Course maps for the full- and half-distance races can be found here.
