Body victim of hit and run

The body of a man found on Skaha Lake Road in Penticton Tuesday morning has been identified as 28-year-old Scott Michaud.

He was found lying in the middle of the road near Lee Avenue at around 4:40 a.m.

Sgt. Rick Dellebuur of the Penticton RCMP says Michard’s injuries are consistent with being struck by a vehicle, adding that the driver did not remain at the scene.

Police are now seeking the driver, as well as any witnesses to the hit and run, or events leading up to the incident.

A male witness is believed to have been driving a light coloured late 90’s or early 2000’s minivan near the time when the incident happened. This person drove up to the scene and spoke with witnesses, but departed just before police arrived.

The RCMP would like to speak with this driver. Anyone else with information is asked to contact the Penticton RCMP or Crime Stoppers at 1800-222-TIPS.
