Cars targeted by vandals

A pair of teenage boys on BMX bikes allegedly caused thousands of dollars in damage to more than a dozen vehicles Sunday night in Penticton.

Police say as many as 15 vehicles parked at the Penticton Lake City Casino parkade were targeted.

Damage ranged from deep scratches to the paint to slashed tires.

Police later discovered two additional vehicles parked at the Penticton Marina on Okanagan Lake also sustained damage.

"The two suspects were described as males in their teens," says Sgt. Rick Dellebuur.

"One male was wearing a black hoodie while the other male was wearing a 'mackinaw' or tartan coloured hoodie carrying a black pack."

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call Penticton RCMP or Crime Stoppers.

Meantime, Dellebuur says, while police attended a number of call for service over the five days of Peach Festival, overall the festival was well attended and organized and the crowds were very friendly and appreciative.
