Cherry pit spit back on
The annual cherry pit spitting contest in Naramata will now take place Sunday, Aug. 3, at Manitou Park.
The contest, typically held at the community market, was cancelled last Wednesday, when a powerful storm rolled through the area.
It is now slated to be held between noon and 1 p.m. at Manitou. All ages are welcome to join in.
The cherry pit spit will take place after the cardboard boat race.
Information on the boat race, which is still taking entrants, is available at mynaramata.com.
