Hwy. 3 opens after crash

11:15 a.m. update:

Hwy. 3 is now open, crews have cleared away a flipped logging truck and its load of logs.

Update -- 9 a.m.

Highway 3 is now open to single lane alternating traffic. Crews will still be on scene to clear up the mess, as logs were strewn along the side of the road.

Castanet has also learned the driver of the logging truck has been taken to hospital in Keremeos with minor injures.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Highway 3 is closed in both directions just west of Keremeos due to a vehicle accident.

A logging truck has rolled onto its side and is blocking traffic on both sides of the road.

The incident happened just before 7 a.m.

There is no estimated time for the road to reopen.

We’ll have more information when it becomes available.
