Rollover near Trout Creek

A man is recovering in hospital after rolling his older model Ford into the ditch near Trout Creek on Saturday afternoon.

The skid marks began about 50 feet from where the vehicle came to rest, but showed he fish-tailed a couple of times before rolling over the edge of the Highway 97.

RCMP on the scene said it was unknown what made the man lose control.

He avoided other vehicles, but ended up rolling onto the roof of his truck off the southbound side of the highway.

RCMP said at first glance it looked as though the man suffered only minor injuries, but he was taken to Penticton Regional Hospital for a further examination.

Traffic was slowed down to two lanes in both directions, but was never stopped completely.
