Robbery suspect caught

A 41-year-old Summerland man faces potential robbery charges after a liquor store in Oliver was robbed last week.

The Oliver RCMP detachment responded to a hold-up alarm at Spud's Liquor Store on Main Street on June 8, after the masked male suspect entered the store and took a quantity of cash from the till, before fleeing on foot.

No weapon was seen, and no one was injured in the robbery.

A coordinated investigation, with assistance from the Penticton RCMP, Penticton First Nations Policing, Summerland RCMP and the Regional General Investigation Section, resulted in the identification of the suspect and his subsequent arrest on June 13.

The man is facing potential charges of robbery and disguise with intent.

He has since been released on a promise to appear for court on July 24.
