Bobbitt hearing next week

The sentencing and dangerous offender hearing for David Bobbitt is now slated to start Monday, June 23.

The hearing date was discussed Monday morning in a Penticton court room.

It is expected to last to July 8, with continuation dates still to be determined.

The entire hearing should last a month.

Bobbitt, who appeared by video Monday, sat quietly through the proceedings. He was remanded to appear in person when the hearing starts.

It was supposed to begin on Monday, June 9, but was delayed because the judge became unavailable.

Bobbitt was charged with a violent assault on a young woman at Dave's Second Hand Store in Penticton in 2011.

Her toddler was found unharmed nearby.

He pleaded guilty to all seven of the counts he was facing in April of 2013.
