Rescue near Naramata

For the second time in a week, Penticton District Search and Rescue and Naramata Fire Rescue teamed up to rescue a person on the side of an embankment.

Just before 12:30 p.m. Saturday, BC Ambulance responded to a report of a young male with severe leg injuries.

The man had been cycling near the KVR Trail off Arawana road near Naramata Creek.

Emergency crews drove up the KVR trail and descended a 200 foot slope to the injured biker.

The cyclist was on a 70 degree slope so the rope team was brought in to effect the rescue.

This effort brought together 35 people from three different medical and rescue services.

The cyclist was transported to Penticton Regional Hospital with unknown injuries.
