Correctional centre ceremony

Attorney General and Minister of Justice Suzanne Anton will be joined by Osoyoos Indian Band Chief Clarence Louie, local dignitaries and project partners for the Okanagan Correctional Centre groundbreaking ceremony on Friday.

Members of the Osoyoos Indian Band will perform a welcoming ceremony and there will be a turning of the sod, with some help from heavy machinery.

The correctional centre is being billed as a project that will boost the local economy and create family-supporting jobs in the region.

The ceremony will take place at 1 p.m. at the construction site, Senkulmen Business Park, 200 Enterprise Way in Oliver.
