Sunday bus services will soon be expanded in Penticton.
The city and BC Transit announced this week that effective May 19, Sunday runs will begin at 9 a.m. all year long.
That means an extra hour of service from September to June and will now match the existing morning summer service schedule.
A one year pilot program also begins May 19, where BC Transit customers in Penticton, Summerland and Naramata can travel through the various transit systems thanks to a reciprocal transfer policy.
Transfers are good for 90 minutes following time of issue.
Penticton customers: When travelling to Summerland, passes or regular fares plus a transfer and a $2 top-up are required.
When travelling to Naramata, passes or regular fares plus a transfer and a $.25 top up are required.
Summerland customers: When travelling to Penticton, passes or regular fares plus a transfer is all that is required.
Naramata customers: When travelling to Penticton, passes or regular fares plus a transfer is all that is required.
There are no transfers between Summerland and Naramata.
