Emergency crews busy

Emergency crews were kept busy in Penticton on Thursday afternoon.

At around 12:41 p.m., police, fire and ambulance responded to a motorcycle accident on Carmi Avenue.

According to the Penticton RCMP, a young man testing a new bike, he was trying to buy, failed to make a turn and hit a fence at Cleland Drive and Carmi.

The extent of his injuries is unknown at this time. People who live in the area said he was taken to hospital to be treated.

Later in the afternoon, there was a four vehicle accident on Eckhardt Avenue, in front of the Ramada Inn, according to police.

The accident slowed traffic on the busy street.

Information on any injuries was not immediately available.
