Rescued dog found

Update -- April 4, 3 p.m.

Dodger, the missing poodle, was found Friday afternoon according to Penticton BC SPCA branch manager Corinne Ross.

Ross said two SPCA volunteers were out dog walking, when they spotted Dodger on Okanagan Avenue, about a block from the shelter.

The dog is fine, was given food and water and will be reunited with its owner.

BC SPCA Penticton is asking the community to keep an eye out for a standard white poodle that got away from its owner on Thursday morning.

The recently adopted dog is one of the animals seized in February from a rural property in Clearwater.

Corinne Ross, Branch Manager in Penticton, said the dog got away around 7 a.m. in the vicinity of Penticton Regional Hospital.

"If anyone spots it running around, they are advised not to approach him, because he is still very fearful of people, unless the dog is in immediate danger," she said.

Once SPCA staff, who know the dog, know his whereabouts, they can go out and deal with him.

Anyone with information is asked to call the SPCA at (250) 493-0136 or animal control at (250) 492-3801.
