Multi vehicle accident snarls Hwy. 97

Traffic was not moving Monday afternoon after several vehicle collided on Hwy. 97 near the Penticton Gun Club.

Witnesses say at least six vehicles were involved in the incident. The chain reaction crash happened at around 5:30 p.m..

A truck and car were in the ditch and a truck with heavy front damage was on the southbound side of the highway.

On the northbound side, one vehicle and two SUVs were stopped.

RCMP and emergency crews had the highway blocked off for a while while they helped the drivers and passengers.

We do not have a report on injuries at this time, more details to follow.
